Code of Conduct for Safeguarding Children while using this Blog

The aim of this Code of Conduct is to endorse the rights of the children, to ensure the rights of children are safe guarded and the dignities of children are respected.

HELP and Terre des hommes Foundation Lausanne truly believes in the principles of UNCRC and committed to ensure the implementation of UNCRC guideline in all levels of their association. The code of conduct articulated here is to guide the users of this blog to follow appropriate protocols to ensure that utmost safety and security of the children is ensured in all forms of communication and references related to children made through this blog.
Do’s
The user should:
1.       Respect the dignity of concerned children and use dignified language to narrate about the children.
2.       Conform to the highest standards of children’s rights (UNCRC) as children are the most frequently portrayed subjects.
3.       Truthfully represent the particular situation both in its immediate and wider context
4.       Ensure confidentiality of children by avoiding the name and address of the children and her/his family. If at all necessary unreal name and address could be mentioned with a statement on changing the identity.

Don’ts
The user should not:
1.       Use abusive or inappropriate or provocative language in the narration which humiliate/degrade children.
2.       Be judgmental on the topic/case while seeking information related to any child
3.       Use image (photo/video) of children while sharing/seeking information through the blog
4.       Use of the blog for commercial purpose
5.       Make disrespectful comments about Government or any other agency on child protection issues
The user shall adhere to this code of conduct while using the blog. HELP and Terre des hommes Foundation have all rights to delete/change any statement given in the blog in line with their respective Child Protection / Safeguarding Policy.
